Firma jest na liście PETA, nie testuje na zwierzętach, ale używa w produkcji 2 składników pochodzących z insektów: jedwabiu i karminu. Dlatego nie znalazła się na liście OK!

Lanolina pozyskiwana jest od owiec bez okrucieństwa:

"The lanolin obtained for use in the Dr.Hauschka Skin Care products is done so in a 100% cruelty free manner. The sheep undergo the painless and harmless process of having their fleece shaved (sheared), usually in the spring. The sheep are not harmed in any way and the process is similar to a haircut. The fleece, once removed from the sheep, then undergoes a process of separating the fatty wool wax called lanolin from the rest of the fleece."

Super!!! Tego mi było trzeba, ja ostatnio zakochałam się w paru kosmetykach z tej firmy i mimo zapewnień Pani zastanawiałam się co u nich jest nie tak, bo wiedziałam, że ich nie ma na liście.

Dear Mrs Jastrzebska,

The German Animal Welfare Federation runs a cosmetic positive list based on the strongest criteria world wide. The company Wala Heilmittel GmbH is not on our cosmetics positive list for several reasons. The company was not willing to meet the criteria of not tested on animals since the cut-off-date 1979 for its ingredients. As to our knowledge it also uses the dye carmine that is produced by crushing louses. The company is also a producer of drugs for which animal experiments could have been performed.

We have no reference of any German animal welfare organisation that runs a cosmetic list on which Wala is listed. However, some Wala cosmetic products meet the criteria for natural cosmetics of the BDIH (Bundesverband deutscher Industrie- und Handelsunternehmen für Arzneimittel, Reformwaren, Nahrungsergänzungsmittel und Körperpflegemittel e.V., it is an association of German industry and trade companies). From our point of view the criteria of the BDIH have major loopholes with regard to aniam experiments e.g. that not all products of a company have to meet the criteria, that the cut-off date for not tested on animals (products and ingredients) is 1998 which is not even controlled as to our knowledge (the German Animal Welfare Federation uses the cut-off date 1979 and companies have to prove it).
